This is Suryan Stalam. There are no separate shrines for the Navagrahas (9 planets) in these temples as the presiding deity is a graha (planet) himself in the respective temples. The presiding deity of the temple is Sri Vijayaasana perumal in a sitting posture with Adiseshan over his head like an umbrella like in Srivaikundam temple. About the origin of this temple, the story goes thus.
